Lunch buffet at India Palace in Alameda

Lunch buffet at India Palace in Alameda

Mostly I blog the foodie places I visit while I'm traveling, but yesterday my wife and I enjoyed the Indian buffet here in town and I wanted to share it with everyone who gets the chance to visit the Bay Area. If you're nearby and enjoy Indian food (and who doesn't like a buffet?) then be sure to visit India Palace in Alameda.

I'm firmly in the midwest on my return home to California from a few weeks on the East coast and Philadelphia to visit my daughter at college. As I got into southern Illinois, I had time for a huge pork chop -- it's a pound and delicious. Read my review of the One Pound Pork Chop at Richard's Farm Restaurant in Casey, Illinois.

I only had time for one place to eat during my short stay in Jackson, Mississippi, and I had to choose my lunch carefully. Luckily for me, Man v. Food picked the buffet at Two Sister's Kitchen for its fried chicken. Yesterday we took the streetcar up Canal Street and jumped off at Galvez in the Treme district for the short walk over to Dooky Chase's Restaurant on Orleans Ave. in New Orleans. We got there a little early for the lunch buffet, and at opening time the front door was opened by none other than Dooky Chase himself. He thanked us for coming to his restaurant.

My family and I spent a very Happy Thanksgiving yesterday at The Court of Two Sisters in the French Quarter of New Orleans. My wife had called in advance to make courtyard reservations for the jazz brunch, and the weather was nothing but beautiful blue skies. We were in for a treat.
